popularnost Dr. Alexandra Burt sa sveučilišta u Michiganu proučavala je gen 5HT2A serotonin-receptor koji utječe na koncentraciju kemijskog glasnika serotonina u mozgu. U istraživanju je učestvovalo oko 200 studenata u dobi od 19 godina podijeljenih u dvije skupine sa zadatkom da organiziraju zabavu. Jednoj skupini dana su ograničena sredstva, a drugoj “odriješene ruke”.

Zamijećeno je da studenti koji su imali originalnije planove za zabavu u pravilu su imali G oblik spomenutog gena, za razliku od drugih koji su imali A varijantu. Originalniji studenti, koji su ujedno bili spremniji ne obazirati se na uobičajena pravila, bili su popularniji među vršnjacima i djevojkama. Potaknuta tim istraživanjem, dr. Burt namjerava organizirati slično istraživanje i među djevojkama.
