Dužina staze iznosi 4200m, broj skalina: 162, a visinska razlika: 0 - 30m. U stazu su uključene i stube, njih 162 po kojima je utrka dobila ime. Cijela staza bit će obilježena, uz prisustvo brojnih volontera. Startni brojevi i čipovi, te će se rezultati obrađivati kompjutorski kroz Grabar Sport. U slučaju kiše ili snijega, utrka se ne odgađa. Okrepna stanica na startu i na cilju utrke (krafne, napitci). Svaki sudionik morat će doći 30 minuta prije starta utrke pokupiti startni broj, te vratiti startni broj i čip, nakon čega se može preuzeti sudionički paket. "Utrka 162 stube" organizira jubilarni 10. put u subotu, 11.02.2017. u 12h Sportska Udruga Studenta Medicine Zagreb (SportMEF) po 10. put na Schlosserovim stepenicama koje vode od Draškovićeve ulice do Šalate i Medicinskog fakulteta. Dužina staze iznosi 4200m i starta pred Medicinskim fakultetom, a proteže se preko Mesićeve, Grškovićeve i Rockfellerove ulice te Schlosserovih stuba (162 stepenice). Na taj način utrka povezuje dvije temeljne zdravstvene institucije, Medicinski fakultet i Školu narodnog zdravlja "Andrija Štampar".
